Lets Talk Stats

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the biggest stat guy in the world.

I mean ya, I love seeing little things like Tom Brady has been to more Super Bowls than 28 franchises and children born in 2000 have been alive for 10 professional sports championships (S/O to my ’00 babies) because c’mon who doesn’t? But for the most part it’s all about whats on the scoreboard at the end of the game for me.

Whilst scrolling through God’s gift (Twitter) today I saw an absolutely mind bottling stat:LANIGAN TWEET.PNG

My reply is cut off but it read “24-0 in shots has to be a typo” and I legitimately expected a reply saying “Oops! Should’ve been 14-0.”, but instead? Nothing.

Oh my god thats actually a true stat.

I was definitely blown away by it but then I felt I had more questions than before and one bigger than all the rest; how is the score 1-0?

I ultimately kinda just chalked it up as a great period for the Dogs and one Big Red would want to forget. And once I saw 4 third period goals added one after the other, I thought the wonky period had leveled itself off.

I thought I’d finally just forget about the ridiculous stat.

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE! (rip in peace Billy Mays)

The final shots were 61-10 in favor of the hometown boys. This is when my mush brain really started to settle in. I didn’t know whether to be ecstatic over the 5 goal victory or disappointed by amount of missed chances. I didn’t know whether to think of the goalie on North as a guy who let in 5 goals or Tukka Rask. Seriously when you think about it, how often does a goalie post a 92 save % and lose the game? (Let alone lose 5-zip)… I think I’d err on the side of Tukka.

Overall, what a dominating win by the Dogs but its almost like the Patriots at this point.

Someone wake me for the sectional final
